The "Test of English as a Foreign Language" (TOEFL®) is the most internationally recognized language test for English as a foreign language and is now required by over 6000 universities and companies worldwide as proof of language ability.
The TOEFL® has also been offered at Leibniz Universität Hanover since 2007 as an internet-based test (iBT).
The Leibniz Language Centre is currently one of the largest TOEFL® iBT test centers in Germany.
The total examination time is about 3.5 hours, which is divided into four test parts plus check-in:
- Identity check (about 30 minutes)
- Reading comprehension (54-70 minutes)
- Listening comprehension (60-90 minutes)
- Speaking (20 minutes)
- Writing (50 minutes

Currently the fee for the examination is $ 255 (as of 07/20).
TOEFL® registration is not conducted at the Leibniz Language Centre, but directly with the test provider ETS.
